Under the general direction of the Department Manager the incumbent independently manages all aspects of the Politics Department and Latin American and Latino Studies Department graduate programs serving as primary advisor, resource person, and liaison to all faculty, current and prospective graduate students, and the campus community. Additional duties include academic human resources, recruitments, and department budget support.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Must possess a valid license to drive in the state of California.
Ability sufficient to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with diverse constituents.
Demonstrated individual initiative and ability to function effectively with minimal supervision and direction.
Demonstrated experience planning with ability to adapt to a complex and changing organization and environment.
Demonstrated experience anticipating and analyzing problems, devising and implementing solutions.
Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability, including administrative initiative and program development.
