The Department of Political Science at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, invites applications for an Academic Year Adjunct Lecturer position (one-year, non-tenure-track) in Political Science, specializing in Comparative Politics. The successful candidate will teach multiple sections of Introduction to Comparative Politics and Introduction to Political Science Research as well as upper-division courses in their area of specialty. Specific courses will be assigned according to programmatic need and the qualifications of the individual. The Department has coverage of the Middle East and Europe. Areas of interest include: African Politics, Chinese Politics, and Latin American Politics. The AYAL will teach the equivalent of seven courses over the year, with at least one course in each academic quarter: fall, winter, and spring. Each quarter is 10 weeks long, with an 11th week set for final examinations.
