The Department of Romance and Classical Studies in the College of Arts & Letters at Michigan State University is seeking applications for a fixed-term Assistant Professor with responsibilities in teaching graduate and undergraduate students.
A variety of courses may be taught; however, the primary teaching responsibility will be for Transatlantic Hispanic literatures including two graduate courses in the literatures and cultures of Medieval Spain and Colonial Latin America, with additional undergraduate teaching responsibilities based on department needs.
The individual selected will teach three courses per semester and will be expected to participate in the activities related to the graduate and undergraduate programs.
This is a non-tenure track, fixed-term position on a nine-month academic year appointment for the academic year 2018-19. Additional summer teaching opportunities are possible with additional compensation. The position will start August 16, 2018.
PhD in Spanish with a specialization in Medieval Spanish and/or Colonial Latin American literatures and cultures; native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
