Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. We are currently seeking a dynamic, innovative, and experienced Spanish teacher to join our expert faculty in a one (1) year, non-tenure track position. The position will require the strong ability to work with beginning, intermediate, and advanced-level students. Responsibilities include teaching four sections of Spanish as well as advisory and chaperoning duties. Opportunities to coach, participate in our community service program, and lead student extracurricular activities are also available.

M.A. or Ph.D. in Spanish or Latin American Studies
Fluency in both Spanish and English
Significant upper-school classroom experience
Knowledge of and experience teaching a wide range of Spanish and Latin American literature
Ability to teach the sequencing of language clearly and through multiple modalities
Facility with teaching students with varying learning styles, needs, and abilities
Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and emotional maturity
Experience in and a commitment to developing one’s own cultural competency and seeking, continually, greater levels of diversity, equity and inclusion in practices and in curricula
An affinity for working with adolescents
A strong desire to engage in ongoing professional development and collaboration
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in curriculum review and design
Strong interest in Spanish and Latin American art and culture
Significant travel, work, and/or living experience in Spanish-speaking countries
Interest in extra-curricular involvement with students
A demonstrated commitment to community service
