The Department of Literature [https://literature.ucsc.edu/] at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time Lecturers. The department offers courses in a broad range of areas including, but not limited to the following genres:
English-Language Literatures, including American and British literatures
French and Francophone literatures (in French and in translation)
German literature (in German and in translation)
Greek and Latin literatures (in original and in translation)
Italian literature (in Italian and in translation)
Russian literature (in translation)
Spanish/Latin American/Latinx literatures (in Spanish and in translation)
Visual, performative, sonic, filmic, and other media

ACADEMIC TITLE Lecturer
SALARY Commensurate with qualifications and experience and the particular courses the Lecturer is appointed to teach. Compensation for Summer Session courses may differ from courses taught during the academic year.
Ph.D. (or equivalent foreign degree) in Literature or related field at the time of application
A minimum of one-year college-level teaching experience
POSITION AVAILABLE Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.
