In your pivotal role as Associate Application Specialist, you will provide analytical and systems support to our Vanderbilt Coordinating Center (VCC) team.You will create and maintain systems, and complete statistical data analysis to directly support internal and external customers by translating business objectives into supporting technology resources.
Additionally, you will:
Â·Implement electronic data collection forms and surveys in the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) platform.
Â·Develop reports that communicate findings from data analyses and advance recommendations for process and/or system improvements.
Â·Perform testing, facilitate iterative user acceptance testing, debug, and document deliverables.
Â·Create, modify and enhance database reporting tools by importing and exporting data, running reports, updating data tables, and creating queries.
Â·Implement small projects or components of large projects.
Â·Meet directly with customers to discuss their business needs and gather requirements.
Â·Product Knowledge: Has a general working knowledge of key informatics terminology in addition to some training, direct exposure, and/or past experience.
Â·Problem Management: Has light experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working with Incident Tracking and Problem Reporting.
Â·Configuration Planning: Establishes simple, realistic objectives. Demonstrates ability to identify basic resource needs, recognize discrete tasks and organize work for a simple plan.
Â·Organizational Impact: Delivers job responsibilities that impact own job area/team with some guidance.

In collaboration with the VUMC Human Research Protections Program (HRPP), the Translational Research Navigator II assists with the optimal application of the Federal, State, and local laws, guidance documents, VUMC Institutional policies, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies and procedures while meeting the objectives of the VUMC research community. Consults on complex research and regulatory issues in conjunction with the team(s) to identify solutions and develop improvement processes. The TRN II researches topics of departmental, institutional or strategic importance.
