The Division of History & Political Science at Louisiana College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of History, starting Fall 2019, pending budget approval.
Description of Position
The qualified candidate will need to demonstrate an active Christian faith and possess a commitment to the integration of faith and learning. The successful applicant will be expected to engage students in multiple sections of general education courses (Western/World Civilization) and upper-level courses related to the candidate’s specialty area. Additional duties include advising students, serving on college committees, and assisting the department with curriculum development and assessment as well as recruiting and retention efforts.
Preferred: Ph.D. in History (ABD candidates will be considered). Preference will be given to applicants who possess qualifications to teach in one or more of the following areas: Asian history, African history, Latin American history, Women’s history, Minority history, Geography and/or Political Science.
