AdventHealth seeks to hire an Occupational Therapist – Outpatient Senior Clinician who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 6:00pm
The Occupational Therapist – Outpatient Senior Clinician provides direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Department. Accepts the responsibility to practice autonomously and collaboratively in all practice environments to provide best practice to the patient/client. Autonomous practice is characterized by independent, self-determined, professional judgment and action. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. May supervise other occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, volunteers, technical aides and interns. Facilitates development of staff clinical competency. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Advanced clinical competency of discipline-specific practice, theory, principles and application
Basic computer skills to include Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Windows (Preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and five or more years of experience as an occupational therapist, OR
Master’s in Occupational Therapy and one or more years of experience as an occupational therapist
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Current valid State of Florida license as an Occupational Therapist
Board Certification from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) or the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Engages in promoting evidence based standards of care and lifelong learning through autonomous and collaborative participation in research, journal club/reviews, teaching/mentoring/CI, and/or clinical practice education within a peer group.
Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and recommended techniques. Establishes, implements and adapts an individualized treatment plan of care including appropriate goal setting, treatment activities and frequency. Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved and/or according to standards of practice and payer guidelines.
Documents accurately, completely, and timely with legible handwriting. Uses measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/ hospital policy and procedures.
Charges patient accurately, timely and legibly according to guidelines of the CPT code format, price file, and following insurance guidelines.
Identifies the need for patient/caregiver education and utilizes each opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis. Documents education and understanding as appropriate.
Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Facilitates further development of staff clinical competency on an as-needed basis.
Practice principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence based practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.
Meets at least 90% of the productivity standard.
Actively supports scheduling so that each patient meets the plan of care as agreed upon by the patient and referring physician by adjusting and adapting their own schedule and/or working within the team in order to meet the patients’ needs. Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs as needed/approved and observed by manager.
Practices principles of employee and patient safety when performing daily job activities via observation.
Regularly participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships with a minimum of 2 contacts per month. Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community as approved by manager or director.
Complies with FH Compliance Plan, rules and regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies, and with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payers as evident through documentation reviews, tracers and rounds results. Takes responsibility for the environment of care by monitoring and taking action as needed.
