Responsible to improve, sustain and facilitate robust, interdisciplinary global programs to address and mitigate personal data privacy risk and execute the CBRE Group's global data privacy and protection strategy. This individual will report into the Americas Director, Data Privacy, and will work closely with CBRE Group's Global Director, Data Privacy. Responsibilities will be tailored at a high level to the requirements of the GDPR, US, Canadian and Latin American Data Privacy Law. This role will require coordination across multiple regions and continuous engagement with various levels of the company's personnel, including senior members of HR, Legal, IT, and Compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and mature CBRE's global data privacy program to align the global and regional programs. Advise internal clients on compliance with legal requirements and CBRE's privacy policies, notices, standards and procedures.
Identify and implement comprehensive processes and tools to support implementation of privacy policies, Privacy Impact Assessments, Data Subject Request responses, Privacy by Design and manage customer/employee consents and complaints.
Create, coordinate and deploy training programs through multiple avenues, including in-person training, specifically around operational compliance with the GDPR privacy principles, privacy by design, data subject requests, and cross-border transfers. Roll out communications in order to raise awareness of topics critical to the organization. Identifies and understands the elements of an effective ethics and compliance program.
Recognize and understand the applicability of corporate and industry standards to the business. Understands the policy and procedure infrastructure within the business.
Assist with developing a privacy risk mitigation strategic plan, and coordinate implementation of that plan.
Monitor the various industry and/or country or region-specific privacy regulations and support the implementation of requirements into technology or compliance solutions. Monitor key privacy and data protection legislation, analyzing compliance requirements, and making recommendations as needed. Knowledge of primary legal and regulatory framework that apply to privacy risk assessment processes.
Support CBRE's Legal, Compliance and IT departments in the development of a cyber incident response plan and assist with investigations and responses.
Provide subject matter expertise to Legal and Procurement during the contract review process.
Develop familiarity with local data privacy regulations impacting countries in CBRE's business.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a 4-year college or university. Law Degree strongly preferred. Minimum five years of data privacy, compliance or project management experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
JD or CIPP Certification is required
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate basic figures such as percentages and discounts.
