Central Washington University's (CWU) College of Arts and Humanities seeks an Assistant Professor for a tenure-track position, with productive scholarship and service expectations in addition to teaching. The successful candidates will hold a PhD in one of our humanities disciplines, medical humanities, or interdisciplinary programs (Africana and Black Studies, Asian Studies, and Latino Latin American Studies), and be able to demonstrate strong theoretical and broad methodological knowledge, including quantitative, qualitative, and/or rhetorical methods, and the ability to teach a variety of Liberal Studies courses. Applications from candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds are particularly welcome.
Ph.D. in a Humanities discipline, medical humanities, or related field (degree to be conferred by September 15, 2020).
Demonstrated record of university level teaching experience (minimum 1 year).
Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
Willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and modalities.
Demonstrated outstanding teaching experience in both face-to-face and online.
Teaching experience in a broad variety of undergraduate courses.
Ability to coordinate curriculum delivery, design new courses, and conduct assessment for our Liberal Studies program.
Experience with successful teaching practices to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
