The Colleges of Arts and Sciences, in coordination with the Office of Global Education, are seeking high quality faculty to teach 3-week general education courses for the American Academy in Curitiba, Brazil.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
All courses entail engaging students in interactive learning activities aligned with course objectives and supplemented with examples of real work experience. The curriculums follow the Kent State catalog description and are delivered in accordance with defined course standards and outcomes.
Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable:
American Academy courses are taught in intensive, 3-week sessions, one course at a time with classes held from approximately 9am – 3pm M-F. There is the potential for teaching two back-to-back sections of the same course over a 6-week timeframe. All courses are Kent State courses and are taught in English.

Successful candidates should have a master’s degree in a relevant, related area to the course(s) for which they are applying. They should also have strong communication skills with the ability to relate to international undergraduate students.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
