Working under the general direction of the Principal Investigator, manage and conduct data collection for an NIH-funded study evaluating an intervention for immigrant women survivors of violence. Study participants include diverse groups of immigrant women from Asian, Latin American and African background. . Ideal candidates are self-motivated, have strong verbal and written communication skills, excel in building relationships and partnerships with community stakeholders, have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and are able to handle multiple priorities work and meet deadlines. Flexibility, organization and critical thinking skills are essential.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Schedule appointments with eligible participants
Building partnerships with organizations serving immigrant women to complete the goals of the study
Conducting on site data collection, which includes a) identifying, recruiting and enrolling participants in the study; and b) assisting participants in completing the survey if needed.
Conducting monthly phone check ins for retention purposes
Maintaining a record of enrolled participants and providing weekly recruitment and enrolment reports to the team
Implementing phone intervention procedures
Disseminating study information, conducting outreach and participating in weekly recruitment events
For participants in outside states and regions, developing strategies for online screening and data collection.
Coordinate participant recruitment and retention efforts and data collection efforts
Perform informed consent and standardized surveys with persons at community-based sites.
Follow all study IRB approved protocols and procedures
Attend team meetings
Communicate with Study Coordinator and Principal Investigator about all schedule changes and study related issues.
Other research related activities as assigned by the PI.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
High School Diploma/GED
Two (2)years of related experience preferably in research or clinical setting or community service environment.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the * JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for the required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job. *
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health or related field preferred.
Bilingual candidate is preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working with at-risk individuals and/or survivors of violence and trauma is desired.
Candidate must have personal vehicle.
Position requires strong attention to detail and protocol adherence, while maintaining flexibility to respond to multiple priorities. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential
Operates personal computer to access email, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software. Utilizes Internet to search for information.
Must demonstrate skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint).
The work location is telecommute outside of Maryland; some locations are in the North-East or Mid-West.
