The Department of Art & Art History in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History for a one-year appointment beginning in fall 2022. This is a full-time position with benefits; salary commensurate with experience.

The position is open to candidates with expertise in any area of art history and the ability to teach global surveys of art history, esp. pre-history through 1400 CE, and upper-level courses covering the Art of the Americas, such as Art of the United States, African American Art, Latin American and Latinx Art, Native American Art, and/or Pre-Columbian, Mesoamerican, and/or South American Art.

The teaching load will be 3-4. Courses will include core fine arts courses (both in-person and online versions), global surveys of art history, and upper division courses, including Art of the United States in fall 2022. Departmental service is expected.
