The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at Keene State College seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach two intermediate and advanced-level Spanish courses in the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semester, and to promote the Spanish program to prospective students. This is a part-time, non-benefitted position, but it may be renewable (contingent upon successful teaching and departmental needs). Course Descriptions: The successful candidate will teach courses such as SP-201 Spanish and Social Change, SP-410 Advanced Spanish Grammar, and SP-199 Experimental Introductory Spanish Course. Instruction will be in person.  Our students come from diverse socio-economic and educational backgrounds, with a high percentage of first-generation college students. By the time Keene State College students complete their undergraduate experience they develop critical thinking, creative inquiry, intercultural competence, civic engagement, and commitments to well-being and to sustainability that will serve them as active citizens and lifelong learners. We strongly encourage individuals to apply who will support the Collegeâs ongoing efforts to help students become responsible global citizens.  At Keene State College, we share a commitment to diversity, equity and multiculturalism as key elements of academic excellence. Ph.D. or ABD in Spanish language, Latin American Cultural Studies, Spanish Peninsular Studies or a related field by Aug. 2022; demonstrated teaching excellence; outstanding command of English and Spanish languages; ability to teach Latin American Cultural Studies and/or Spanish Peninsular Studies; experience teaching at the U.S. university level; knowledge of second language pedagogy; and study abroad or residence in a Spanish-speaking area.
Keene State College is located in the scenic Monadnock region of Southwest New Hampshire, and is an affiliate of the University System of New Hampshire. We are located approximately 2 hours from Boston or Hartford CT, and 4 hours from New York City.
