Detailed Job Description
Promotional and informational materials and correspondence
oversee, coordinate, or support the creation and distribution of materials with support of student designer;
develop and implement an annual communication plan for the College;
work with the Division of Marketing and Communications at RIT to support the publication of news and events and the production of promotional materials (brochures, catalogs, videos, ads, etc.);
research concepts, fact check, and draft original copy appropriate for different audiences;
create and disseminate internal and external e-news letters to engage constituents and stakeholders;
develop accurate and visually appealing posters, brochures, programs, newsletters, invitations, presentations, and message board posts;
help faculty and staff create informational materials that adhere to the visual identity standards of the University;
draft, edit and proofread correspondence from the Dean's Office;
develop promotional materials proactively for the various college events for distribution to constituents.
CET webpages
proactively monitor, edit, and recommend website updates to ensure accuracy, relevance, currency, and functionality.
coordinate and edit content of the College's website as needed;
work with the CET Director of IT and Technical Services to ensure compliance with RIT standards;
monitor and act upon web analytics;
work proactively with CET departments and University Web Services to ensure that the College's webpages promote our mission and support RIT's brand;
create/edit/acquire high-quality web text, image, and video content;
College-level social media accounts
manage the College's social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) to enhance the College's brand and support its strategic priorities;
monitor and act upon the associated analytics;
research, write copy, and create graphic content for social media outlets;
develop, approve, and schedule daily content for social media channels;
optimize content streams to engage with target audiences and influencers;
work with CET Departments to develop, coordinate and implement social media communication and outreach plans;
Work with the Dean and leadership to identify and build content that is periodically posted on social media outlets to keep followers engaged.

Department/College Description The College of Engineering Technology (CET) https://www.rit.edu/engineeringtechnology/ is home to nine undergraduate and six graduate programs. It is one of RITs nine colleges and enrolls approximately 12% percent of the universitys students. CET prides itself on its constant evolution, innovation, and global outreach via online learning, corporate education, and international programs. Minimum Qualifications Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree
3 years experience in content development, communications, media, marketing, writing, creativity, and/or project management.
An Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills:
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communications skills; ability to write compelling and error-free text that targets specific audiences; ability to work independently to troubleshoot problems, manage multiple projects, and set priorities to meet deadlines.
Ability to create visually appealing graphics consistent with RITs style guide.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency of documents, website, etc.
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with a variety of constituents and stakeholders as part of a team to achieve common goals.
The candidate should have some level of demonstrable practical experience in the following areas:
Marketing, Communications, or related field;
Knowledge and demonstrated professional experience with social media platforms (eg., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn);
Creating effective web content (text, image video) and technical skills required to update content;
Using the technology needed to support key job requirements (i.e. various social media platforms, advanced Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); Google Docs, graphic design, web software
Managing projects.
