Located on Chicago's vibrantly multicultural North Side, LUC is committed to creating an inclusive, responsive community of faculty, students, and staff. As an urban-based Department of Psychology dedicated to mentoring a diverse student body, many of whom come from under-represented and under-served populations, we especially encourage applications from candidates from under-represented groups. We also encourage applications from candidates committed to interdisciplinarity (i.e., working with colleagues across different subfields and disciplines). Of special interest are candidates who can further the University's efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to participate at all levels of the work, from participant recruitment, data collection, and development of coding and analysis plans to data analysis and dissemination. The postdoctoral researcher will work with a team of graduate and undergraduate students, and post-bac research assistants, and attend regular meetings with the collaborative research team. They will gain valuable experience implementing research in informal settings using qualitative and quantitative methods. The postdoctoral researcher will participate in dissemination activities for academic and nonacademic audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in developmental psychology, learning sciences, educational psychology, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse population of participants, especially participants of Latin American heritage, and experience with conversation/narrative coding, and outstanding data analytic skills.
