Assistant or Associate Professor of Classical Studies and Roman History
The Department of Modern and Classical Literatures and Cultures (MCLC) seeks an assistant professor or an associate professor in Classical Studies (Latin) and Roman History with a joint appointment in the Department of History. The successful candidate will specialize in Roman history and culture; we especially encourage applicants with additional specializations in ancient race and slavery and gender and sexuality. Dedication to undergraduate teaching is a must. The ability to teach undergraduate Latin and Greek at all levels is a requirement; opportunities may also arise to teach graduate students. Rice University has a semester-based teaching schedule with a 2-2 teaching load. The successful candidate will teach at least two classes per year listed or cross-listed with each of the tw
