Assistant Professor, Contemporary US History
The History Department at Fairfield University seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in contemporary U.S. History, with a specialty in labor and immigration history to begin fall 2025, pending final budgetary approval. We are especially interested in scholars who connect historical patterns and practices with contemporary debates about immigration, asylum, and climate related migration. Teaching responsibilities are three classes (two preps) per semester. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses at all levels of our undergraduate curriculum including introductory courses in modern American history, intermediate survey courses, and advanced seminars in one's specialty.
