The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Smith College invites applications for a tenure-track position on Afro-diaspora and/or Indigenous studies in the Spanish-speaking world at the rank of beginning or advanced Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2025.  We welcome in particular applications from candidates whose work engages with Latin American geographies through a transnational cultural studies lens. Intersectional perspectives, innovative pedagogical approaches, research combining various forms of cultural production, and experience working with heritage speakers of Spanish are especially welcome.
