Colby College's Latin American Studies Program seeks aVisiting Assistant Professor in Latin American History for the 2026-27 academic year. Candidates should have a PhD in Latin American history in hand by 1 Sep. 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses: Introduction to Latin American History (typically colonial and early 19th century), Introduction to Latin American Studies (an interdisciplinary history survey of late 19th, 20th and 21st century), one intermediate level class and a junior or senior seminar to cover significant topics or themes in Latin American history of the candidate’s choice, with coverage of countries besides Mexico especially welcome. The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or community building and governance activities, will contribute to access, opportunity, and inclusion within the campus community.
