Pitzer College invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish, with a two-year term.  The field of specialization is open.  Ability and/or experience teaching Portuguese Language courses is a plus.  The successful candidate will be joining the Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (MLLC) field group (academic department), which offers courses in Spanish, Portuguese, and French language and cultures.  Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in language teaching at the undergraduate level, as well as experience in teaching language at all proficiency levels.  Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish is required.  Evidence of promise in scholarship and a PhD in Spanish or a related field is required.  Social science and/or humanities persp
