The Department of Comparative Cultural Studies at the University of Houston invites applications for a full-time, renewable, Non-Tenure-Track teaching appointment in Religious Studies. Religious Studies is a small but growing undergraduate BA program.
We seek to hire a dynamic and accomplished teacher to offer four courses over two semesters, mentor undergraduate majors and minors, supervise students’ independent study courses and honors theses, and support the Program Director with modest administrative service. Successful candidates will be able to support the delivery of both introductory survey courses and advanced undergraduate seminars on more specific themes and topics.
The preferred area of specialization is the religions of South Asia, but applications from candidates with expertise in other areas of specialization will also be considered.
The Department of Comparative Cultural Studies at the University of Houston is an interdisciplinary department that is home to curricular programs in Anthropology, Liberal Studies, and Religious Studies.
